We spent the last of our vacation in Odense, Denmark, again staying at another home for free thanks to home exchange. The goal was to see the big flower festival, it ended up not being very big and was a bit of a let down but the atmosphere around town was great. Odense was home to Hans Christian Andersen, the famous children's author of Thumbelina, Emperor's New Clothes, and The Princess and the Pea. We went to a children's museum right next to his house where the girls had so much fun dressing up and painting and making crafts. The Danish unit of money (Krone) is 7.5 times higher that of an Euro so it was hard to want to spend much money when everything is listed as hundreds or thousands. We spent 304 units of money just on dinner! It was interesting to learn about Denmark's royal family. I haven't really ever thought about other countries rulers much before. We hope to make it back to Denmark sometime our visit this time was short and sweet.
