Minau

On October 9, 2010 we took a day trip to Minau, an island on Lake Constance now turned into a botanic garden.  It was a great chance to see all the flowers one last time before the cold weather set in.  We stopped at an apple stand that had over 20 or so different varieties of apples to try.  Our favorite was the Elstar, that we were introduced to in Hamburg named (we suppose) from it's origination near the Elbe River.  We checked out the mansion and the butterfly house but the best for the girls was an enormous play ground complete with river rafts, a beaver dam jungle gym, and other sound making toys.  It was a fantastic day!
