In November we met Cindy Smith and her son Carter who flew to Hamburg to help a friend out with her new baby. Cindy and Carter ended up staying at our home for a couple of weeks and we had a wonderful time showing them around Hamburg. We toured the museum ship Cap San Diego, went to the aquarium and Rissen's zoo, saw the Rissen and Blankense lighthouses, St. Micheal's and St. Nichols Cathedral, road tripped to Bremerhaven in a vain search for the Rotes Strand lighthouse, hit the pool, went into the Rathaus (Town Hall), and did lots of shopping. Our kids enjoyed playing together and Carter enjoyed joining Kaitlan's sports class. We finished off our time together with a trip to the local carnival "Dom" where the kids enjoyed some rides and some wurst but the best of all was Cindy and I going on the monster rollar coaster with 5 loops! Luckily our wurst stayed where it belonged and we were only left with our wobbely knees to contend with.
